Gary Loden
President

With more than 40 years experience, Gary has been successful in a wide range of professional endeavors throughout his career, including more than a decade of service with the Control Technologies team.
He is responsible for the development and management of all services, products and contracting opportunities. Gary earned his degree at Texas Tech and has a background that includes sales and marketing.
Before joining ConTech, Gary demonstrated an ability to develop and execute at companies ranging from advertising agencies to Internet service providers.
Robyn Jones
Business Manager
Lubbock, TX
As business manager, Robyn is responsible for a variety of important issues, including accounting oversight, insurance, banking, legal, human resources and benefit management in addition to managing the office staff. She joined the company in 2015. Prior to joining our team, she was Section Supervisor for Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Robyn earned her BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University and has over 18 years of experience supervising accounting positions.
Scott Cheatham
Security Account Executive
Lubbock, TX
Scott has been serving in facilities and risk management since 1994, having become a member of our team in 2009. As an account executive, he is charged with IP security consulting and design for new construction and renovation. He also oversees sales of networked security solutions.
Scott holds two degrees from Texas Tech and an MBA from the University of Dallas.
Cary Mitchell
Systems Design Engineer

Cary joined Control Technologies, Inc. in 2010. He is responsible for project delivery and field level installation for building automation, energy management, and integrated security management systems. His background includes configuration and maintenance of IT networks, Industrial DCS systems, building automation systems, as well as physical security systems.
Cary has over 10 years experience with Johnson Controls, Inc. serving the commercial facility customer and 5 years of industrial plant operations. He served 6 years in the U.S. Navy as a lab technician. His industry education includes various aspects of IT operation and design as well as project engineering and management.
Norma Phenix
Administrative Assistant
Lubbock, TX
As an important member of the ConTech team, Norma is often the first voice our customers hear when calling the office. She joined ConTech in 2006 in an administrative support position. Her responsibilities include material acquisition, support for construction and service accounting, and outside sales support.
Doug Carr
Prjoect Manager
Lubbock, TX
Doug has been with us since 1994, working as a field service technician and now a field supervisor and project manager for integration of Johnson Controls systems and Invensys / TAC / Schneider Electric control systems. He is experienced in both LonMark and Bacnet control system installations.
He is a Lubbock High graduate with an extensive background in electrical work. He was a master electrician and journeyman electrician for Continental Electric in Lubbock and a journeyman electrician for two other companies prior to that.
He holds a master electrician license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and is Niagra Ax certified.
Bob Moak
Product Manager
Lubbock, TX
Bob provides oversight of our materials management processes. This includes procurement and delivery from various vendors as well as management of our internal inventory. He joined our team in 2013 with over 17 years in criminal justice serving as a Probationary Officer and Correctional Officier. Bob graduated from West Texas A&M with a Criminal Justice degree.
Kent James
Vice-President
Lubbock, TX
Kent has more than 25 years professional experience and has been part of the Control Technologies team since 2005.
His responsibilities include managing the company’s sales, operations and engineering departments. Other priorities include ensuring customer satisfaction and company profitability.
Before joining Control Technologies, Kent worked seven years for two companies in Austin. Prior to that, he began his career working for Johnson Controls in Houston and Waco. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M.
Rick Jones
Controls Account Executive
Lubbock, TX
Rick has been a member of our team since 2006. As an account executive, he is charged with control sales and service for existing properties as well as control sales in new construction and renovation. He also is oversees security sales of Access Control and CCTV.
Rick, who holds a mechanical engineering degree from Texas Tech, also has been a service manager and construction designer in our industry. His HVAC education includes a number of Johnson Controls product courses and hydraulic design and he is licensed by the state in Class A refrigeration and security sales. Prior to joining our team, Rick spent 12 years in various positions with Johnson Controls.
Jess Bates
Systems Design Engineer
Lubbock, TX
Jess is responsible for providing application engineering services for all projects and field engineering services for project evaluation. He also evaluates new products and vendors for compatibility with project needs and provides technical support for field staff and customers and engineering support for sales staff.
Jess has a background in architectural studies and a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech, and he has been part of our team since 2000. Prior to coming to ConTech, Jess had a long career as a mechanical engineer project coordinator at Texas Tech and worked for three Lubbock-based engineering firms.

Rod Cunningham
Project Manager
Electronic Security Systems

Rod joined ConTech in January 2013. He began his career in the commercial security and fire alarm industry in 1983. Since that time he has performed project installation and management for security and fire alarm systems across West Texas. His work includes projects with Texas Department of Transportation, Lubbock International Airport, Texas Tech University, and many others.
He carries certifications from most major manufacturers including Pelco, Bosch, Radionics, Panduit, Genetec, and others.
Billy Roye
Software Application Engineer
Lubbock, TX
Billy provides software application engineering services for all projects and field engineering services for project evaluation. He also evaluates new products and vendors for compatibility with project need and provides technical support for staff in the field as well as customers and engineering support for the sales staff. He has been with the ConTech team since 2002 and has more than 25 years of experience in engineering with firms such as Trane and Honeywell. Prior to that, Billy served our country as a member of the Marines as an avionics technician stationed in Japan.

Mike joined ConTech in 2014. He has an MIS degree from Texas Tech and many years of experience in various aspects of IT.
He is Genetec and Schneider Electric certified.

Kelly Buchanan
Project Manager
Midland / Odessa, TX
Kelly has been part of our Midland/Odessa team since 1995. As a project manager, Kelly is a field supervisor who serves as a project manager and field technician for Siebe / Invensys / TAC / Schneider Electric Control and Continuum Security Systems.
He has an extensive programming background in graphical user interfaces, including Signal, InVue, Niagra, and Continuum and has working knowledge and technical background involving Microsoft operating systems DOS through Windows XP, Microsoft Office Products and Microsoft LAN networking.
Prior to joining ConTech, Kelly worked as a lead mechanical technician for the Ector County Independent School District. He holds a Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Master License.
Josh Young
System Representative
Midland / Odessa, TX
Josh joined our Midland/Odessa team in 2008 and serves as a project manager and field technician for TAC I/A Series Controls, Continuum Security Systems, Distech DDC Systems, and Pelco Camera systems.
Before coming to our team, Josh worked as a lead building automation technician for an air conditioning contractor and was an application engineer and field technician for Distech DDC and access control systems. He also has working knowledge and a technical background involving Microsoft operating systems DOS through Windows XP, Microsoft Office Products and Microsoft LAN networking.
Josh has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas-Permian Basin and an associates degree of Applied Science in Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology. He is a licensed security systems installer.
John Chilton

John joined Control Technologies, Inc. in 2014. His responsibilities include overall project delivery of building automation and HVAC controls systems. John’s experience includes control systems, HVAC mechanical systems, and low temp refrigeration systems. He has over 18 years of experience installing and servicing HVAC systems. John attended Texas Tech and Texas A&M Universities.

Eloy joined our company in 2013 as a systems installer. He is responsible for installing our controls and security system equipment according to drawing details and our internal quality control standards. Eloy has xxxx years of experience in electrical installation and carries various safety certifications.

Chris Love
Project Manager

Chris has been with ConTech since 2004. He is both a project manger and field technician for Barber Coleman / Siebe / Invensys / TAC / Scheider Electric Control Systems. He is experienced in both LonMark and Bacnet control system installations.
He previously was with the Region 16 Education Service Center in Amarillo, where he worked as a graphic printer and was charged with managing the print shop while delivering quality and innovation every day.
He is a graduate of Amarillo College who holds an associate’s degree in electronic engineering technician and is also Niagara AX certified.
Brandon Bradshaw

Brandon joined our team in 2007, and he is a field technician who is experienced with Barber Coleman / Siebe / Invensys/ TAC / Schneider Electric Control Systems.
He has a programming background in graphical user interfaces, including I/A Series Enterprise Server and Andover Onsite and working knowledge and technical background involving Microsoft operating systems Windows XP, Microsoft Office Products and Microsoft LAN networking.

Randy Maxwell

Randy joined our Abilene team in 1999. He is a project manager and field technician for Barber Coleman / Siebe / Invensys / TAC / Schneider Electric control systems. His experience includes years of work on both LonMark and Bacnet control system installations.
Prior to coming to ConTech, Randy was an electrician for a commercial electrical contractor in Abilene. His 20 plus years of electrical project experience include commercial, oilfield service, and pole line work
Patrick Shupe
Project Manager

Patrick joined our Abilene team in 2003. He is a project manager and field technician for Barber Coleman / Siebe / Invensys / TAC / Schneider Electric control systems. He is experienced in both LonMark and Bacnet control system installations.
Prior to coming to ConTech, Patrick was an electrician and a systems specialist for two other Abilene companies. Before that, he was a system engineer at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and served 10 years as a cryptologic technician for the United States Marine Corps.
